Erik ten Hag‘s side created history in September when they were pitted against Newcastle at Old Trafford in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup draw.

It was the 12th time in a row that United were handed a home clash in either the FA Cup or Carabao Cup.

Prior to Sunday’s FA Cup draw, which has seen Arsenal pitted against Liverpool, United have gone nearly three years without an away match.

That came in March 2021, when Leicester – en route to winning their first FA Cup – won 3-1 in a quarter-final clash at the King Power Stadium.

The 2021/22 season saw United knocked out in the third round of the League Cup, before exiting at the fourth round in the FA Cup as Middlesbrough triumphed on penalties.

Ten Hag almost won a domestic cup double in his first campaign at the Theatre of Dreams last term – winning seven home matches.

United came out on top in three home ties in the Carabao Cup before winning the two-legged semi-final against Nottingham Forest – their only away match in the last three years – before beating Newcastle in the final at Wembley.

And from the third round to the quarter-final, United breezed past Everton, Reading, West Ham and Fulham, before overcoming Brighton in the semi-final at Wembley, with rivals Manchester City scooping the trophy in the final.
