On Saturday night, Wagner Reis pulled off a potential knockout of the year contender.
The Brazilian came up against his fellow countryman Manoel Silva at the Jungle Fight 122 MMA event,
In the first round of the fight, Reis stayed light on his feet bouncing around the edge of the cage.
He was throwing the occasional kick to the calf or head of his opponent, but for the most part it was Silva pushing the action.
Silva seemed to be biding his time, planting his feet in the centre of the cage, as he stalked his opponent.
But, as soon as Silva engaged, looking to throw a right hand, he was caught by the same shot coming back the other way from Reis.
The 29-year-old caught Silva with a crushing right hand that saw him crash down to the canvas face first and he lay there unconscious.
Reis then held his hands to the sky in celebration and jumped on top of the cage to take the applause from his fans.
With the win, Reis bettered his MMA record to 7-3 and he claimed the flyweight title.
As for the 28-year-old Silva, he suffered only the second defeat of his career, with his record now reading 9-2.
